Decidi fazer o blog bilingue.

I decided it to be a bilingual blog. Just because!!
So, yesterday was the second day of this crazy idea of living without a freezer and still with food that needs to be cooked or arranged somehow. Breakfast started trying to have local cereals (but it revealed itself to be a very complicated task, since most of the cereals are imported). Yesterday I went to the supermarket and looked at more than 20 different muesli and oats cereal brands, which were: 1st point - produced locally; 2 - organic; 3 - preferably whole wheat and 4 - without sugar (as much as possible)... I ended up buying this:
Fits perfectly in the second point, I really did not quite get if it was produced locally or if it was just the distributor who was local, partially whole wheat (as far as I understood, 18 %) and it has twice the sugar as I wanted to, but it was my first try. I just hope it improves :) I had soya milk, from Alpro and the manufacturing process is well explained here. The soya beans are no-GMO, sustainable, organic and with a low carbon foot-print. Plus, some whole wheat rye bread, tomato and cucumber, local (double the price of the imported ones, which is another issue but I will not discuss it now).
Anyway, I was happy with my breakfast and now I just need to find suitable cereals and it gets perfect!
No need to say that for lunch was a mix of the previous cooked dishes:
- pea soup
- vegetable lasagna and tomato rice (the pictures show the two lasagna dishes)
Still, I had to cook a bit more today. I did berries jam, which can be preserved longer in glass jars and are great mixed with yogurt or on top of a chocolate cake.
I add light brown sugar (fairtrade) to the fruit and a glass of Port wine,
sustainable production and the producer (I found it out!) is part of a network of countries producers of wine, which support pollination, among other things
--> check more info here! The bottle came with me from Portugal, so it contributed already for the carbon footprint...
And now I have so much cooked food, that the only thing I need to do is eat! I still haven't missed the freezer :)
